Key Biscayne K-8 Center

FCAT 2010 Results

The Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) for the 2009 - 2010 school year have just been released, and the results obtained by the students graduating of Elementary (5th) and Middle (8th) grades continue to score in the 3 range - defined in the Sunshine State Standards as "partial success... but inconsistent performance".  See FCAT Achievemnet Levels below. Although the State considers a 3 to be a passing grade, it can be basically interpreted as just meeting the minimum requirements for advancing to the next level (or a letter C).

The FCAT, based on the Sunshine State Standards, measures student performance on selected benchmarks in reading, math and science. Achievement levels range from 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest). Based on the outcome of all students in a particular grade and subject, the school obtains a "Scale Score" ranging from 100 (lowest) to 500 (highest) in that particular subject.  See FCAT Achievement Levels Document for a definition of Achievement Levels.
